HFM PTECH celebrates 24 program graduates

Students who completed the HFM PTECH program in the 2018-19 school year.

Twenty-four students from eight school districts have completed the Hamilton Fulton Montgomery Pathways in Technology Early College High School program during the 2018-19 school year, earning their high school diplomas and associate degrees.

Students finishing the program this year earned all of their high school credits and met New York State requirements for a Regents Diploma and completed all the required coursework for associate degrees in various programs at Fulton Montgomery Community College in a 4- or 5-year time frame.

Through the HFM PTECH program’s partnership with the Fulton Montgomery Chamber of Commerce, students also worked with regional business partners to learn professional skills through mentoring sessions, taking part in workplace tours, job shadowing and internship opportunities.

The second annual HFM PTECH Completion Ceremony at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown on June 30 celebrated the accomplishments of the students, who have plans to join the workforce, continue their education and join the military.

The students who completed the program this academic year are as follows:

 Alexis Baird

Alexis Baird followed the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and received her Health Studies degree at FMCC.

While at her home school in Gloversville, she was involved in Winter Guard.

Her recognitions include being on the Honor Roll and the Principal’s List.

Outside of school, she works at Wendy’s.

Alexis plans on taking a break before enrolling in classes to get her bachelor’s degree.

Her long-term goal is to become a social worker for children in a hospital setting.

She is the daughter of Autumn Luft and Peter Wilkes.

Jacob Dudar

Jacob attended PTECH in the Information Technology pathway.

He received his associate degree from FMCC in Computer Information Systems.

While at PTECH, Jacob was active in Underwater Robotics and Judicial Council.

At his home district of OESJ, he was involved involved with band, soccer, baseball and basketball.

Outside of school, he had an internship at Frozen Parts,one of PTECH’s business partners.

His recognitions include making PTECH’s Principal’s List and FMCC’s

Dean’s List.

Jacob plans to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University at Albany.

He is the son of Elizabeth and Joseph Dudar.

 

Katrina Foster

Katrina pursued the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and earned her associate degree in Health Studies from FMCC.

Katrina’s achievements include being on the Honor Roll and Principal’s List at PTECH and the Dean’s List at FMCC.

Her activities outside of school included an internship at the Humane Society.

She is the daughter of Chris and Jessica Foster and Christine Foster and Mike Hayes.

 

Mae Goh

Mae completed the Business Management Pathway at PTECH and earned her associate degree from FMCC in Business Administration. While at PTECH, Mae was involved with Dance Committee and the Student Government Association.

Mae was on the Honor Roll and Principal’s List at PTECH and made the Dean’s List at FMCC.

Her activities outside of class include an internship at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce, a job at Target and doing semi-professional photography.

She plans to continue her education by attending the University at Albany, majoring in chemical biology.

Her long-term plan is to one day work on cures and medications.

She is the daughter of Kok and Michelle Goh.

 

Conner Hutchinson

Conner pursued the Health Sciences pathway and earned his associate degree in Health Studies from FMCC.

He has been on the Honor Roll and Principal’s List at PTECH and the Dean’s List at FMCC.

Outside of school, Conner had multiple internships at hospitals.

He plans to attend SUNY New Paltz to pursue a bachelor’s degree in biology.

Conner is the son of Robert and Tracy Hutchinson.

 

Natalie May

Natalie completed the Health Sciences pathway and received her associate degree in Health Studies from FMCC.

While at PTECH, she was involved with the Student Government Association.

In her home school in Mayfield, she was active in drama club and played softball.

Her recognitions include being on the Honor Roll and Principal’s List. Outside of school, she had an internship at a local daycare and volunteered at the Paul Nigra Center.

She plans to attend Russell Sage College to major in special education.

She is the daughter of Solomon and Lynette May.

David Miller

David followed the Information Technology Pathway and received his associate degree in Computer Information Systems from FMCC.

He was on the Honor Roll at PTECH and the Dean’s List at FMCC. Outside of school, he practices computer assembly.

He plans to work while pursuing a bachelor’s degree at SUNY Albany for Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity. After completing his education at SUNY Albany, David hopes to become an FBI agent in either Cybersecurity or Digital Forensics.

He is the son of John and Tammy Miller.

 

Allison Morey

Allison has completed the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and is receiving her associate degree in Health Studies from FMCC. While at PTECH, Allison was active in Underwater Robotics, Student Government Association and Blacksmith Guild.

In her home district of Johnstown, she played varsity soccer and basketball.

Outside of school, she has worked part time at TJ Maxx and completed at internship working with children alongside occupational therapists.

Allison plans to take a year off from school before going back to college to complete a degree in occupational therapy.

She is the daughter of Brooke Morey.

 

Seth Myers

Seth pursued the Information Technology Pathway at PTECH and received his associate degree in Computer Information Systems from FMCC. At his home district of OESJ, Seth played soccer and basketball..

While at PTECH, he participated in Underwater Robotics, the Student Government Association and Judicial Council.

He was on the Principal’s List at PTECH and the Dean’s List at FMCC. He is the son of Rebecca and Roy Myers.

Madison Paul

Madison pursued the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and has earned a Health Studies degree from FMCC.

At her home district in Gloversville, Madison was active in Winter Guard.

Outside of school, Madison has been a teaching assistant at the YMCA.

She is planning to continue her education at SUNY Empire State College and major in human development.

Her long-term goal is to get a degree in adolescent psychology.

She is the daughter of Perry and Rebecca Paul.

 

Mckenzie Paul

Mckenzie pursued the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and received her associate degree from FMCC in Health Studies.

Her activities include field hockey and Winter Guard at Gloversville High School.

She also works for Pete Semione’s Professional Cleaning and Restoration Services.

Mckenzie’s immediate plans include going into the workforce with a focus on cleaning hospital offices.

Her long-term goal is to go to a four-year college to become a registered nurse.

She is the daughter of Perry and Rebecca Paul.

Nadia Payan
Nadia has earned her high school diploma and her associate degree in Business Marketing from Fulton Montgomery Community College in four years.

During her time at PTECH, Payan served as co-president of the Future Business Leaders of America PTECH Chapter and was involved in the Mayfield Drama Club. She was consistently on the PTECH Principal’s List and FMCC’s Dean’s List. She also was in FMCC’s Business Club and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the college’s academic fraternity.

In 2016, Payan was part of delegate of five students who represented PTECH at the Model Schools Conference in Orlando, Fla.

As an intern at the Sunflower Shoppe in Johnstown this past semester, Payan managed the shop’s social media and marketing efforts.

This spring, Payan received the 2018-19 Outstanding Business Student of the Year award from the Capital Region Business and Marketing Educators’ Association and was honored by FMCC as the school’s Distinguished Graduate in Business Marketing.

She plans to attend the College of St. Rose in the fall as an English major and hopes to work as a creative director or writer in film.

Payan is the daughter of April and Cliff Payan.

 

Madison Perez

Madison has completed the PTECH Business Management pathway this spring and received her associate degree in Business Administration from FMCC.

While at PTECH, she was a member of the Blacksmith Guild and Future Business Leaders of America.

Outside of school, she has an internship with Flooring Authority.

Her plans after graduation include enlisting in the U.S. Airforce, with the goal of serving in the military for 20 years and  getting her master’s degree in business administration.

Honors and awards include two Fletching Awards with Blacksmith Guild and the first-place journalism award in the region for FBLA. Perez is the daughter of April and Tomas Perez.

Elizabeth Peters

Liz has completed the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and received her Health Studies degree from FMCC.

While at PTECH, her activities included Underwater Robotics.

She also played lacrosse outside of school and works at the YMCA daycare.

Liz plans to work for a year before continuing her education, with a goal of becoming a trauma surgeon.

She is the daughter of Cheryl and Douglas Peters.

Abigail Preston

Abby followed the Business Management Pathway at PTECH and earned her associate degree in Business Management from FMCC. Abby was active in Art Club while at PTECH.

Her accomplishments include being on the PTECH Principal’s List and FMCC Dean’s List.

Her activities include working in the PTECH office, two years as a counselor at Summer Bridge, and planning PTECH’s proms with fellow student, Gillian Rosmarino.

She plans to major in graphic arts at Alfred University.

Her long-term goals include starting her own video game/comic design company or working at a company where she can collaborate with others.

She is the daughter of Chris and Cathy Preston.

 

Julia Preston

Julia followed the Business Management pathway at PTECH and earned her associate degree in Business Administration from FMCC. Julia ran varsity cross country and was on the varsity track and field team at her home district of Johnstown.

At PTECH, she was in the Digital Media and News Club and made the Principal’s List for all quarters.

Outside of school, she is a hostess at Sam’s Seafood Steakhouse, volunteers at the RASE Animal Shelter in Gloversville and enjoys exercising.

She plans to continue onto a 4-year college, majoring in business administration and pre-law.

Her long-term goal is to be successful in a career that combines business and law.

Julia is the daughter of Kim and Grant Preston.

 

Samantha Reese

Samantha completed the Business Management pathway at PTECH and her Business Administration degree from FMCC.

She was on the Honor Roll during her time at PTECH.

At her home school district of OESJ, Samantha played the flute in the band.

She worked as a library page at the Margaret Reaney Memorial Library, and she also took ballet, pointe, jazz and contemporary dance classes.

Samantha will be heading to SUNY Canton, where she will major in Criminal Investigation.

Her goal is to earn a bachelor’s degree and work as a crime scene technician or a crime analyst.

She is the daughter of Brian and Tracy Reese.

 

Taylor Rose

Taylor completed the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and earned an associate degree in Health Studies from FMCC.

Taylor came to PTECH from the Mayfield school district, where she was active in softball, volleyball and cheerleading.

At PTECH, she was involved in Underwater Robotics and Judicial Council and was on the Honor Roll.

Outside of school, she works at Label Shopper and job shadowed at the hospital.

She plans to enroll at a four-year college to study radiology.

She is the daughter of Anna Romaine and Randy Rose.

Gillian Rosmarino

Gillian pursued the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and received her Health Studies degree from FMCC.

While at PTECH, she was involved with the prom committee and worked as an intern in the front office.

Gillian plans to attend Alfred University to earn her bachelor’s degree. Her awards and recognitions include being on the Honor Roll and Principal’s List at PTECH, and making the FMCC Dean’s List five times.

She also earned recognition for Academic Achievement in math and received the Bridge Award at PTECH.

She is the daughter of Heather Rosmarino.

 

Hannah Ryder

Hannah completed the Health Sciences pathway at PTECH and received her Health Studies degree from FMCC this past December.

Hannah was active in the Student Government Association while at PTECH.

Her recognitions include making the Dean’s List at FMCC.

When not attending classes, she worked in the healthcare field, first as an activities assistant at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation, and for the past year, as a direct support professional at Lexington ARC. Hannah plans to continue her education, possibly to pursue a career as an occupational therapist.

Hannah is the daughter of Jeanne Halloran.

 

Justin Salliey

Justin has completed the Business Management pathway at PTECH and earned his associate degree in Business from FMCC.

Justin plans to take some time off from school before enrolling in a 4-year school to pursue his bachelor’s degree in business.

 

Nicholas Suits

Nick pursued the Advanced Manufacturing pathway at PTECH and received his degree in Electrical Technology from FMCC.

At his home district of Canajoharie, he played football and baseball. He also worked at Global Foundries while completing his studies, first as an intern and now as a part-time employee.

His long-term plans involve becoming an engineer.

He is the son of Kevin and Sherry Suits.

 

Aislynn Ward

Aislynn followed the Business Management pathway at PTECH and received her associate degree in Business Administration from FMCC. Aislynn was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and Reality Check while at PTECH.

Her awards and recognitions include being on the Honor Roll, and being named Youth Advocate of the Year for Reality Check.

She was also a Model Schools representative and went to States for FBLA.

Outside of school, Aislynn has a job at Burger King and did an internship for Mohawk Cabinet.

She plans to both work and continue her education, including taking wrestling classes. Her ultimate dream is to move to California to audition for movies.

She is the daughter of Jazz Gonzalez.

 

Wyatt Yennard

Wyatt pursued the Business Management pathway at PTECH and earned a Business Accounting degree from FMCC.

While at PTECH, Wyatt made the Principal’s List with Honors.

Outside of class, he enjoys training horses.

He plans to go into the workforce with a long-term plan of pursuing a career in accounting, while doing rodeo and training horses on the side.

He is the son of Jolee and Wes Yennard.
