EnCon students tour SUNY Cobleskill

HFM Career & Technical Education students enrolled in the Environmental Conservation program visited SUNY Cobleskill last month to learn about their Diesel Technology program and the Fisheries and Aquaculture program. Students received a tour of the facilities and spoke with faculty members and Cobleskill students currently participating in the programs.

While touring the Fisheries department, HFM students collected 200 brook trout to raise in their classroom. Both HFM CTE and SUNY Cobleskill are participants in the ‘Trout in the Classroom’ program sponsored by Trout Unlimited. Trout Unlimited recently provided our Encon program with a tank, chiller, and water testing equipment. In May, our students will learn how to fill out a DEC fish stocking permit and release the trout in a local waterway.HFM CTE Encon students are given a tour of the SUNY Cobleskill Diesel Technology program.
