The HFM BOCES Board of Education held its annual reorganizational meeting on July 1, 2026, where board members re-elected Matthew Sullivan as president and Kathryn Zajicek as vice-president for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Sullivan was first elected to the HFM BOCES Board in 2021 and has also served as vice-president. He recently completed 20 years of service on the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District Board of Education, including 12 years as president and three years as vice-president.

Zajicek, who represents the Greater Johnstown School District, also joined the HFM BOCES Board in 2021 and recently completed her first term as vice-president. Before joining the BOCES board, she was a member of the Johnstown Board of Education and briefly served as its president.

New board member Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Batchelor was also sworn in after being elected this past April. Batchelor previously worked as an English teacher with the Greater Johnstown School District and has also served on the Gloversville Common Council and as a trustee of the Gloversville Public Library.

Members of the HFM BOCES Board of Education are dedicated volunteers elected by representatives of the boards of education from the component school districts. Each member serves a three-year term.
