HFM BOCES programs have developed a variety of resources for parent-guided and self-guided learning for our students while classes are canceled.
These resources are available to parents and students in shared Google folders. Instructors may continue to upload additional resources moving forward. Check back regularly for more additions.
In addition to these resources, some programs are communicating with students in other ways such as Google Classroom, Schoology and mailing material directly to students.
A directory of teacher email addresses is provided in the Google folders if students or parents have any questions. If parents are unable to access any resources, please contact your teacher.
The resources include links and other material that will give students the opportunity to practice skills, review content, and explore topics at home. Parents and students may also email teachers during regular school hours with any questions or ideas they may have.
In addition to program specific resources, the HFM BOCES School Library System also put together some general learning resources with the whole family in mind.
The HFM BOCES Instructional Services Division is also putting together resources for teachers and plans for virtual tutorials and perhaps webinars are being developed.
Please note that due to practical limits, it will not be possible for all BOCES programs to continue their complete instructional programs during this time. Some students may have also already been in contact with teachers and principals and should continue with their at-home learning. In the event that class cancellations are extended, students and parents should anticipate continued communications from their BOCES program.
For families without online access, paper copies are available upon request. Some students may have already received copies.

Free WiFi for Students
Charter will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.
Helping students deal with stress
These are uncertain times for us all, and it’s important to recognize the impact this situation and the loss of the school routine can have on children.
The following are some tips from the Centers of Disease Control on how families can help children manage anxiety and stress:
- Take time to talk with your child or teen about the COVID-19 outbreak. Answer questions and share facts about COVID-19 in a way that your child or teen can understand.
- Reassure your child or teen that they are safe. Let them know it is ok if they feel upset. Share with them how you deal with your own stress so that they can learn how to cope from you.
- Limit your family’s exposure to news coverage of the event, including social media. Children may misinterpret what they hear and can be frightened about something they do not understand.
- Try to keep up with regular routines. If schools are closed, create a schedule for learning activities and relaxing or fun activities.
Be a role model. Take breaks, get plenty of sleep, exercise, and eat well. Connect with your friends and family members.
