The HFM BOCES Board of Education held its annual reorganizational meeting on July 2, 2025, where board members re-elected Matthew Sullivan as president and Kathryn Zajicek as vice-president for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Sullivan was first elected to the HFM BOCES Board in 2021. He currently serves as the board president of the Fonda-Fultonville Central School District and previously held the role of vice-president on the BOCES board before being elected president in 2024.
Zajicek, who represents the Greater Johnstown School District, also joined the HFM BOCES Board in 2021. Prior to her service on the BOCES board, she was a member — and briefly president — of the Johnstown Board of Education.
Before assuming their leadership roles, both Sullivan and Zajicek were officially sworn in as board members following their re-election in April.
Members of the HFM BOCES Board of Education are dedicated volunteers elected by representatives from the boards of education of the component school districts. Each member serves a three-year term.
