PTECH Late Entry
HFM PTECH is pleased to offer older students an opportunity to join the program past our traditional enrollment period. While our primary recruitment efforts remain focused on middle school students and entry into the program at the 9th grade level, we now have options allowing students in 10th-12th grade to join us.
Who qualifies for late entry?
Late entry PTECH students must be on track to graduate and must have passed grade level – appropriate Regents exams. They must have also fulfilled or be exempt from language requirements. More importantly, students must be capable of working independently on a college campus with existing PTECH and counseling supports as 11th graders.
What about half day options?
We believe that students in 11th or 12th grade who are motivated can be successful in half day programs in college environments. Existing transportation runs and HFM’s close proximity to SUNY FMCC opens up many possibilities, including opportunities for students in CTE courses of study that align very well with PTECH degree pathways.
Schoharie County Opportunities
Schoharie County students who are passionate about agriculture, animals, the environment or food systems can join the PTECH program at SUNY Cobleskill – a hands-on, career-driven pathway to college and beyond. An associate degree from SUNY Cobleskill can open doors to careers in farming, food production, animal care, environmental conservation and more.
How can students apply for late entry?
Students past 9th grade who are interested in applying to PTECH should talk with their school counselors about their options. All students are invited to attend one of our Prospective Student Nights scheduled for:
