FAQ for Component Districts:
When should students arrive for their exam?
Students are advised to arrive 30 minutes to their tests to allow for check-in procedures.
What should students brings with them to their exam?
Students must bring identification (student ID, permit, license, or recent report card) to verify their identity at the test location. Students are responsible for bringing any required testing supplies such as approved calculators, bilingual dictionaries, rulers, erasers, and pens. These items will likely not be available at the test location.
Does the district need to confirm student intent to test?
Before registering students, please verify with both the student and parent/guardian that the student intends to sit for the examination. Districts will be charged for each registered student regardless of whether the student attends. Because staffing and testing resources must be secured in advance, there are costs associated with no-show students. Your assistance in confirming participation helps us manage resources appropriately.
What needs to be included when registering students?
When registering students in SIS, please ensure that all required testing accommodations are entered accurately and 504, IEP, and ENL plans are uploaded to SIS. Students will receive their approved testing accommodations at the exam site; however, accommodations must be properly indicated during registration to ensure appropriate arrangements can be made. If applicable, please specify ENL level in the “Notes” section.
Who is responsible for ordering answer sheets?
While we will order exams, each district is responsible for ordering Regents answer sheets for students testing in August by July. When placing your order, it is very important that you indicate that answer sheets should be shipped to:

All participating districts must order several blank answer sheets for each exam.
Who is responsible for communicating with families?
It is each district’s responsibility to communicate test times and locations with students and families. A sample parent/guardian notification letter that districts may modify and distribute to families is available.
