NOV. 5, 2015 – Three PTECH students have been selected and will complete paid internships at Mohawk Cabinet Co. in Gloversville to assist the company with the launch of their website.

Sophomores Theresa Clark, Jacob Dudar and John Santiago will work with Mohawk personnel on the project.

“PTECH is a great program for local businesses, and it’s a perfect fit to help us with our website,” Mohawk Purchasing Director Marv Meher said.

Mohawk Cabinet, which manufactures ice cream dispensing machines, is one of PTECH’s 27 business partners. During the last school year, the company took part in a project in which students were asked to create a user manual for one of Mohawk’s machines. Meher said the interns were chosen based on their performance on that project.

“They all did a really good job, but these students really stood out to us,” Meher said.

The students will each work about 5 hours a week on the development of the new Mohawk website. “This is such a great opportunity for these students not only to develop technical skills, but to hone the ‘soft skills’ needed in the workplace,” PTECH Principal Mike Dardaris said. “We continue to be incredibly grateful to Mohawk for their investment in our students.”
