On Saturday Jan. 27, four students represented PTECH at the first Start Up High School New York event held at the University at Albany. High school students from across the Capital District worked in teams to develop an original pitch of a business idea with the assistance of professional mentors from the business community.

Shawn Glionna and Rebecca Hillman, both PTECH sophomores, worked with Marcia Mitchell, a graduate student at RPI’s Technology, Commercialization and Entrepreneurship program at their Lally School of Business, on Fooshies, a plush food business.

Sophomore Heavenlee Vazquez and freshman Jonas Barkevich worked with Meg Luce from Business Models Inc. on Honey Bee Conscious, an all-natural lip balm. Students will return at a later date with a completed video and pitch.
