Ms. Capece is a veteran teacher and career and technical school administrator who grew up in a rural area near Buffalo.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from Buffalo State, as well as her master’s degree in secondary special education.
Early in her career, she worked as a special education and classroom teacher for students ranging in age from elementary to high school. She has been an administrator for CTE schools for 15 years, most recently as executive principal of the Capital Region Career & Technical Schools (Albany, Schoharie and Schenectady).
Her other work experiences include working with adults with disabilities at group homes in Buffalo and teaching as an adjunct professor at Buffalo State College.
Capece has a daughter, Gina, who attends Hudson Valley Community College, and a son, Anthony, who is a student at SUNY Albany. She currently lives in Colonie with her dog, Zorba, and cat, Norman.
