NOV. 23, 2015 – Students in the Career & Technical Culinary Arts program roasted several turkeys with all the fixins’ today to help provide a Thanksgiving dinner for nearly 100 students, their families and guests in the HFM BOCES Adult Literacy program.
Adult Literacy Program Coordinator Laurie Bargstedt enlisted the class’ help when the preparations for the annual meal and staff schedules became unwieldy.
“We used to be able to prepare the dinner all on our own,” Bargstedt said.
As the program grew, the outreach became a team effort.
“The culinary students have a reputation for excellence. I know we are in for a treat tonight,” Bargstedt said.
