Students from several HFM programs win prizes in Lexington’s Rock for Abilities poster contest
MAR. 22, 2016 – Several students in Jamie Sedal-Ammann’s art classes throughout HFM BOCES won prizes in a local poster contest as part of National Disability Awareness Month.
The theme this year was “Inclusion is within Everyone’s Abilities.”
This is the second year the students participated in the competition sponsored by Lexington Center and the local band, Flame.
Contest winners were awarded prize baskets at the Rock for Abilities Concert on Friday, Mar. 18. Prizes included Chamber of Commerce checks, Flame CD’s, and many other wonderful items.
According to Sedal-Amman, nine HFM students won prizes, and Mayfield Elementary won the grand prize – a free Flame concert for the entire school.
HFM BOCES prize winners were Matthew from Mayfield Elementary; Pandora, Elijah, and Akasha from Boulevard Elementary; Damion and Ryan from Gloversville Middle School; and Cameron and Tommy from Jansen Avenue School.
