SEPT 18, 2015 – HFM BOCES students at Boulevard Elementary School enjoyed a free in-school concert recently by the local band Flame, the grand prize of Lexington Center’s 2014015 poster contest in conjunction with the “Rock for Abilities” concert held last March as part of National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

Jamie Sedal-Ammann’s art students created a poster that used the theme “Can Do! Like You!” The contest was intended to “raise awareness of the value and importance of inclusion and promote awareness of disabilities.”

The school won the Grand Prize by submitting the largest number of student entries.

According to students and teachers, Flame put on an outstanding performance, and students and staff enjoyed dancing and singing to the music.

Mrs. Sedal-Ammann thanked everyone who participated in the contest. “Those who spent their time creating are the reason our school was able to enjoy such an amazing experience.”
