Unemployment Insurance fraud warning

All HFM employees,

Please be aware that we have received recent reports of fraudulent unemployment insurance claims being made in the name of individuals at HFM BOCES and other organizations across the state.

If you receive any unsolicited correspondence from the state Department of Labor regarding a claim you did not make, or suspect for any reason you are the victim of unemployment insurance fraud, contact Jayette Miller in the Business Office at jmiller@hfmboces.org.

You should also report the fraud to the Department of Labor. Visit their “Report Fraud” webpage and follow the instructions for reporting. This page also includes actions you should take after reporting the fraud and how to protect your personal information.

According to the Department of Labor, people who work in education, health care, government and non-profits have been particularly affected by these fraudulent claims and should remain especially vigilant.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
