PTECH juniors, who attend Fulton Montgomery Community College full time, wrapped up a project creating inclusion plans for the college by presenting them to a panel that included FMCC staff.
Among the ideas students presented were offering international foods in the cafeteria and a buddy system that pairs international students and local students. As part of their project, one of the groups met with FMCC’s Director of International and ESL Programs Arlene Spencer to brainstorm ways the PTECH students could help new international students assimilate into life in the United States and the campus.
The students put one of their ideas into action Jan. 20, hosting an icebreaker event with students who had arrived on campus from 10 different countries earlier that week.
