The new HFM BOCES solar farm in front of the Route 67 campus is featured in a recent story in Solar Industry Magazine, a leading news and information publication for solar professionals.

Dynamic Energy, a turnkey solar energy provider, built the solar project on approximately three acres in front of the HFM BOCES main campus this summer. The system is expected to generate 945,000 kWh of electricity annually. It’s estimated the solar farm will generate more than $800,000 for BOCES over the next 20 years offsetting or exceeding its future utility costs.

The article quotes New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) President and CEO Alicia Barton.

“Congratulations to Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery BOCES for collaborating with its partners in developing this solar array on campus,” Barton said. “Not only will it save money and help protect the environment, but this project also is an example of how New York’s institutions can take a leading role in educating future generations about the benefits of clean energy.”
