HFM BOCES has released an online survey to gather public feedback regarding the upcoming search for its new District Superintendent.
The survey will remain open until Nov. 30. Click here to take the survey.
The brief, anonymous survey seeks input about what characteristics and skills are desired of the next District Superintendent. The survey is aimed at members of component school district boards of education, local school superintendents, HFM BOCES staff and students, BOCES business, industry and higher education partners and community members.
James Dexter, the District Superintendent of the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex (WSWHE) BOCES, is working the HFM Board of Education as a consultant during the search process.
Dexter said the board is extremely interested in receiving feedback from all stakeholders in the HFM educational community.
“It is very clear to me that the HFM Board of Education is taking the time and effort to ensure that they find a leader who not only has the right credentials, but also, is the right fit for this region,” Dexter said.
The HFM Board of Education’s goal is to have a new District Superintendent in place by next summer. BOCES will begin advertising the position in December.
The HFM Board of Education is seeking a new District Superintendent to replace Patrick Michel, who retired in August. Anita Murphy, the District Superintendent of Capital Region BOCES, has been serving as the Interim HFM District Superintendent since Michel’s retirement. She’ll continue to serve in that capacity until a new HFM District Superintendent is hired.
