Sophomores at Agriculture PTECH on Sept. 18 participated in the school year’s first Mentor Monday session, during which students in small groups discuss a particular topic with business partners and mentors working in the fields in which the students are pursuing a career.
This Monday’s discussions centered on writing and developing a resume and were led by Shirley Hudyncia of Hu-Hill Farm Store, Tanya Towne of The Sportsman’s Den, Maryellen Driscoll of Free Bird Farm and Nicole Walrath of the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Mentor Mondays will continue throughout the school year, occurring every six weeks with discussions on different topics. Business owners and professionals in the region are encouraged to participate. Upcoming dates and topics are as follows:
- Oct. 30: Effective communication on the job
- Dec. 11: Professional presence/dress
- Jan. 29: Job interviews
- March 5: Succeeding at an internship
- April 16: Mentor “Thank You” Breakfast
