Ag PTECH hosts visit from Board of Regents member

New York State Board of Regents member Beverly Ouderkirk visited the HFM Ag PTECH campus Wednesday, April 26 observing the school’s new model for education first-hand.

Regent Ouderkirk started her visit by eating lunch with several Ag PTECH students, who described the project based learning approach the new school has embraced. The regent also visited an agriculture and an English Language Arts class talking with students and teachers. HFM BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Patrick Michel and Ag PTECH Principal Kristy Shafer accompanied the regent on her tour.

Following the tour of the school, Regent Ouderkirk participated in an education roundtable discussion hosted by Ag PTECH. In addition to HFM and Ag PTECH teachers and administrators, the discussion included representatives from SUNY Cobleskill, school superintendents from Canajoharie, Fort Plain and Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville and Fulton-Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce representatives.
