The Gloversville Enlarged School District Board of
Education has announced three finalists in its search
for a new superintendent of schools. The
superintendent candidates are in the final stage of the
interview process before the BOE makes its decision. The
new Gloversville superintendent will assume his
responsibilities on or about March 1, 2012.

The successful candidate
should be an innovative problem solver; a confident,
purposeful administrator who holds or is eligible for
New York State District Administrator certification, and—

and $140,000, plus benefits.

District
Gloversville’s elementary school programs develop students’
confidence in themselves as learners, instill a love of
learning, and develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed
for students to communicate effectively, understand the world
around them and participate effectively in a democratic society.
At
Gloversville Middle School, students build on this foundation to
continue their educational growth. Middle school students
develop the competence and confidence necessary to explore and
refine their individual interests.
Gloversville High School provides a comprehensive and
challenging program that ensures that students will be
successful in advanced educational studies, the work force or
other post-graduate plans.
High
school and college level courses provide students with many
opportunities to develop and hone their skills, attitudes, and
knowledge. They may earn AP and/or college credit in each major
discipline.
GHS
is one of only two schools in the Fulton/Montgomery county area
to offer the complete course of Project Lead the Way – a
pre-engineering course in which students learn through hands-on
activities.
Gloversville teachers are committed to, and knowledgeable in

district is comprised of seven different school buildings: Meco/McNab
Elementary for students PreK-1, McNab/Meco Elementary for
students 2-5, Park Terrace Elementary for grades K-5, Boulevard
Elementary for grades K-5, Kingsborough Elementary for grades
K-5, Gloversville Middle School for grades 6-8, and the High
School for grades 9-12. GESD also offers Universal

About HFM BOCES
Gloversville
is a component school district of HFM
BOCES, which provides more than $30.8 million in shared educational
services to 15 school districts in Hamilton, Fulton and
Montgomery Counties. BOCES districts range in size from a rural district
with 25 children, to small-city school districts that serve
2,200-3,800 students - for a total of almost 17,500 students.

HFM BOCES employs 360 full- and part-time faculty
and staff.
•
The Special Education division, which comprises
nearly half of the HFM BOCES organization, employs a staff of
more than 200 people - and educates 99 percent of the disabled
children served in the same sites as their non-disabled
peers.
•
Provides career and technical training for more
than 500 local high school students.
•
HFM BOCES Alternative High School serves
approximately 80 students who have experienced difficulties in
their home high school programs.

Nearly 400 adult learners receive BOCES literacy
and GED instruction.

HFM BOCES supports an eight-site Distance
Learning network, allowing students to share advanced classes
