National Tradesmen Day honors skilled workers
21, 2012 - Today is National Tradesmen Day, initiated in
2011 by IRWIN Tools in 2011 to thank professional tradesmen and
boost appreciation for jobs related to America’s skilled trades.
National Tradesmen Day is held the third Friday in September.
The date features appreciation events and awareness campaigns
that honor tradesmen and support the important work skilled
tradesmen do every day.
HFM BOCES Career and Technical Education offers career
preparation in 16 vocational programs designed to instill
responsibility, accountability and job-ready skills in high
Participating students also benefit from academic skills -
science, math and language arts - integrated into their
technical programs, and may be eligible to earn college credits
while they complete their high school curriculum.
