Common Core Math 101 workshop added
Demand necessitates another session of popular workshop
HFM BOCES Network Team has added a
new workshop on Tuesday, Jan. 24 to accommodate an overflow
registration for Common Core Math 101 (#5). Demand for the
original PK-8 workshop in December resulted in a significant
waiting list, leading Network Team Administrator Lee Shaver to
schedule a second session.
Common Core Math 101 (PK-8) provides an in-depth look at the
Common Core State Standards for mathematics. Teachers examine
the shifts in mathematics instruction and create a CCSS-aligned
math lesson.
A complete series of workshops designed by the HFM BOCES Network
Team provides area educators introduction and guidance through
the process of implementing Common Core State Standards.
"Besides the information exchanged, the opportunities to share
experiences and collaborate with teachers from around the region
has made the workshops very popular and productive," Shaver
said.

Workshops rescheduled
The Math Unit Share (9-12)
workshop #6 originally scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 20, has been
rescheduled for 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
Workshop #17 - Literacy in the Content Area, originally scheduled for
Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb.
15, 2012.
