HFM BOCES Substitute Services announces summer training
opportunities
The Substitute Workshop and HazCom training offered on multiple dates in
July and August
HFM BOCES Substitute Services will offer "The Substitute
Workshop" on three dates during the summer. Sessions for teacher
substitutes will take place from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, July 26,
and from 9-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21. A session for teacher
aide substitutes will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug.
22.
The workshops are planned for anyone who wishes to serve as a substitute
during the 2012-13 school year and are designed to educate
substitute teachers and aides in standard classroom procedures,
classroom control, and school discipline policies. Retired
teachers and anyone who has already completed this course are
exempt.
Workshop sessions are limited to 40 participants per
date, and classes will be filled on a first come basis.

Registration is required by Friday, July 20.
Hazard Communications and Right to Know Law training
Substitutes are also required
by the New York State Department of Labor to attend a Hazard
Communications class each year. A combination Hazard
Communications/Right to Know Law class will be held at 2:30 p.m. on
July 26, prior to the Substitute Workshop. HazCom classes will
also be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 21 and 22, immediately following
the workshop each day.

The Substitute Workshop and HazCom class will be held in the HFM
BOCES Conference Center. Parking is in the HFM conference center
lot adjacent to Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
