releases digital service guide for 2012-13
Online version provides ease-of-use and cost efficiency
8, 2012 - HFM BOCES released its
2012-13 Services Guide today, delivering a comprehensive look at
the range of programs and services the organization offers to
its component school districts. For the first time the guide
will be available exclusively in a digital format.
“In this time of economic challenge, it is important to find
efficiencies and economy in everything we do,” HFM BOCES
District Superintendent Dr. Patrick Michel said. “One way to
accomplish that is to forego printing of the service guide and
offer it in a digital format instead. This one step saves us
nearly $2,000 in printing and production costs.”
Beyond the cost savings, the digital service guide provides
increased usability and accessibility to program information. An
interactive table of contents provides easy navigation within
the guide, while live hyperlinks in the text connect readers to
additional relevant information on the HFM BOCES website.
According to HFM BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Patrick
Michel, the 2012-13 digital service guide is easy to keep track
of and easy to share.
“Let’s face it. When a newly printed guide comes out, we thumb
through it, take note of something to look into later, but then
probably file it somewhere in a hard-to-relocate spot,” Dr.
The complete 2012-13 service guide in pdf format may be downloaded
here. The services guide will be accessible through numerous
links throughout the HFM BOCES website.
In the event of changes or revisions in BOCES programs, the
online digital edition can be easily updated, maintaining
current information all year long. All or part of the service
guide may be printed at need, and pre-printed versions are
available upon request from HFM BOCES’ superintendent’s office.
“It has never been more advantageous to pool resources for the
benefit of our students and educational communities, and the
2012-13 Service Guide illustrates the programs and services to
facilitate that,” Dr. Michel said. “The new digital guide also
offers a practical and economical means to share this
information with our school districts.”
