Summer Safety Training Workshop for school support
staff
Health-Safety-Risk Management offers two days of
training at no cost on key mandated subjects
HFM BOCES Health-Safety-Risk Management Services will offer a
Summer Safety Training Workshop for school district support
staff from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, July 10 and
12 at HFM BOCES. The two-day training covers a variety of
mandated subjects.
Workshops include hazard communications, blood borne pathogens,
lockout-tagout, confined spaces, AHERA asbestos awareness,
respirator use awareness, hearing conservation, personal
protective equipment and respirator fit and audiometric testing.
HFM BOCES Director of Operations David Aimone recommends that,
due to recent Department of Labor inspections, any grounds
keeping or maintenance staff who are exposed to loud machinery
attend the hearing conservation session and sign up for
audiometric testing.
While all training sessions are at no cost, services from Access
Health & Safety — respirator
fit testing ($30) and audiometric testing ($50)
— are charged directly by
that vendor to the district based on service(s) provided.
Participants must register in advance of the training and may
attend all workshops, but attendance records will be kept by
individual session.
More information and the registration form may be downloaded
here (pdf).
