Parent/Teacher conference times set for Alternative HS
Home-school connection critical to student success
All parents and guardians of students enrolled in HFM
BOCES Alternative Education program are invited to
attend a conference with their child's teacher. The
conference days will take place from 3-4 p.m. on
Wednesday, Nov. 16 and 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17. No
appointment is necessary. First quarter report cards
will be handed out at these conferences.
The opportunity for parents to meet with teachers helps
build better lines of communication between the home and
school, as well as encourage parental involvement in
their child's educational progress.
Multiple research studies over the past 30 years have
overwhelmingly concluded that involved parents help
improve not only a student's academic achievement, but
their motivation and attitude toward school.
