High School welcomes students for 2011-12
Alternative program provides different path to academic
success
AUGUST,
2011
- HFM BOCES Alternative High School opens its doors for the
2011-12 school year on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
"We strive to provide an educational program founded on the twin
premises that all students can learn and should learn to prepare
themselves for a successful and productive future," Principal
Thomas Flynn said.
"Our students receive solid instruction in a small class-size
setting. Most of them also participate in a scheduled
school-to-work program. Every instructor in our program has one
primary purpose - to have a positive influence on each student's
preparation for life after high school."
Students will receive their final class schedule on opening day,
and are reminded that they will need a spiral or loose leaf
notebook for each of their classes and a variety of pens and
pencils.
Mr. Flynn reminds parents to mark their calendars for Thursday,
Sept 22 to attend the Alternative High School Open House from
5-7 p.m.
"It's a great opportunity to learn more about our program and
meet your child's teachers," Mr. Flynn said. |
