Relay for Life raises $151,000 locally to fight cancer

BOCES teams and contributors earn victory lap for strong effort
June 13, 2011 - A rousing cheer and hearty thank you are due to
everyone who supported the HFM BOCES Relay for Life teams.
Six teams captained by HFM BOCES staff helped comprise 81 total
teams who participated in the 14th Annual Relay For Life of
Fulton and Montgomery Counties on Friday, June 3 at Park Terrace
Elementary School in Gloversville.
The
tally of donations continues to climb, but at this writing, the
number stands at $151,000 raised to fight cancer, according to
the American Cancer Society website. HFM BOCES teams raised
nearly $18,000 to help the cause.
Volunteers from HFM
BOCES Career & Tech cosmetology program helped raise more than
$400 offering hair/feather extensions during the event.

here through August 31 to this year's event.

The
