Lots of thanks for

Cosmetology students raise money, cut hair for charity
Thanks
to help from some HFM BOCES students, Locks of Love raised $584
and received seven hair donations during an event Thursday,
April 28 at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
FMCC’s Early Childhood Club Helping Others,
in partnership with BOCES’ Career and Technical Education
Cosmetology classes, sponsored the event. The students provided
hair and nail services to raise money for the non-profit
organization that provides hairpieces to disadvantaged children
under age 21 who suffer from long-term medical hair loss.
Anyone may donate hair to Locks of Love, as
long as it is can be made into a 10 inch ponytail. Colored or
permed hair is acceptable, but bleached hair is not acceptable.
Anyone that donates hair receives the haircut free.
Another Locks of Love event is scheduled from 10am-1pm, June 7
at Amsterdam High School.
