HSRM a shared resource for safe, secure schools
For many people, their only contact with the Health-Safety-Risk
Management Service is the annual “Right-To-Know” workshop during
the school year.
What if you could pick up the phone and have a team of health,
safety and environmental specialists at your disposal that could
visit your site and assist you with a wide range of situations,
from Asbestos to Subpart-Z? Would you value a team of experts
that could test your location for everything from mold to noise,
or help you plan for emergencies from building evacuations to
opening a community shelter?
The HSRM staff is behind the scenes constantly looking at every
aspect of the school environment. This may entail evaluating
underground storage tanks for leaks, or performing a playground
inspection to reduce injuries. These “behind the scenes”
activities involve not only the physical buildings and campus,
but also assist in protecting the staff, students and the public
that occupy these buildings.
Whether it involves electrical safety or construction activities
that affect the school environment, planning and conducting
emergency drills, or safely disposing of regulated wastes such
as chemicals, batteries, etc., the HFM BOCES HSRM Service offers
many important functions that school districts may have
difficulty providing in-house.
The
HSRM Service provides a cost-effective, shared resource for
maintaining a healthy and safe environment for everyone.
