IRC
offers Learn360 video streaming service
HFM BOCES Instructional Resource Center embraces technology to
deliver resources to the classroom
HFM
BOCES Instructional Resource Center (IRC) is offering
Learn360 video streaming services to all member district
staff. Video streaming takes advantage of the latest technology
to deliver high-quality K-12 content to the classroom via the
Internet.
All materials available through Learn360—full length
videos, audio and video clips, images, and articles—are
completely integrated into the existing IRC catalog. Searches
done by subject, grade level or even New York State Standards
will include any available streaming resources in the search
results.
Learn 360 provides comprehensive, up-to-date content
along with an easy to use interface. According to Library Media
Specialist Edie Willcox, the system is so user-friendly that
formal training is not even necessary! “Your IRC account gives
you access to all Learn360 materials,” Edie said.
Anyone currently using PBS EdVideo Online should remember
that it will be discontinued in June. All of their downloaded
materials must be deleted at that point to comply with copyright
law.
