HFM
BOCES Annual Report Card released
The
2008-09 HFM BOCES Report Card has been released. Education law
requires all New York BOCES to prepare an annual report card
that chronicles the performance of their various programs and
services to students.
As a critical component of the educational system in New York State,
BOCES participates in the public reporting required of all public
schools in the state. School report cards have been issued
annually since 1996.
School and BOCES report cards are part
of a strategy to help raise the educational performance of
students. To achieve that end, parents, teachers, administrators
and communities need to know student performance levels to
inform
changes in instruction, fiscal management, and resource
allocation on identified needs.
The 37 New York
BOCES collect their own data and prepare the reports in
collaboration with the New York State Education Department. Each
division of BOCES is assessed, reporting on enrollment, tuition,
and program outcomes.
HFM divisions include Career and Technical Education, Special
Education, Alternative Education, Adult Basic Education and
Career and Technical Education, and Professional Development,
Technology and Library services.
Locally, HFM BOCES provides more than $24 million in shared
educational services to 15 component school districts in Fulton,
Montgomery and Hamilton Counties, addressing a variety of
educational, administrative and technical needs. These services
enable students to achieve higher learning standards.
