GED test prep
offers night or day option
HFM BOCES classes offered in Amsterdam's Riverfront Center
HFM BOCES will offer evening and morning opportunities to
participate in GED class orientation sessions in February.
The evening session will be held
from 6-9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8 and Wednesday,
Feb. 10 at the FMCC satellite location, downstairs in the
Riverfront Center in Amsterdam.
A daytime option is offered from 9 a.m. – noon on Tuesday,
Feb. 16 and Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Montgomery County
Literacy Project in Riverfront Center. Potential GED students must attend both days of
orientation in the session they select.
The orientation classes are for adults, age 21 and older,
who want to prepare for the GED exam. A few openings may be
available for individuals age 18 - 20 who are no longer
enrolled in school.
During the orientation sessions students will learn about
the program, register and participate in assessment. It is
important that students arrive on time and plan to stay for
the full 3 hours. Students must bring a pen and pencil and a
photocopy of a picture ID with birth date.
For those who attend the evening orientation, classes will
begin on February 22. Classes will be held on Monday and
Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. in the FMCC satellite site
at the Riverfront Center.
Those who attend the morning orientation will begin classes
on February 23. Those classes will be held on Tuesday and
Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. - noon in the Montgomery
County Literacy Project site at the Riverfront Center.
Anyone interested in joining a class must call HFM BOCES at
736-4340 to reserve a seat. Voice mail is available 24-hours
a day. Callers should leave their name, age, address, phone
number and which GED orientation they will attend.
