invited to 'test drive' FMCC programs
Program Nights offer a glimpse into college classrooms
Fulton
Montgomery Community College will host a series of "program
nights" as a way to familiarize high school students and their
parents with specific degree programs available at the college.
The sessions will be presented by the professors in each
program, often in their own classrooms. One session will focus
on new online degree programs launching in the fall of 2010.
FMCC will offer four separate program nights. The first, on
Tuesday, April 20, 2010 will promote the launch of three online
degree programs - in Business Administration and Liberal Arts &
Sciences. The session begins at 6 p.m.
The Center for Engineering and Technology will host a session on
Thursday, April 22, to discuss technology degree programs that
will prepare students to enter high-tech jobs with employers
such as Global Foundries. The session begins at 6 p.m.
FMCC's popular Graphic and Visual Communications program will be
showcased on Tuesday, April 27. The session begins at 6 p.m.
The final program night focuses on health professions. For this
event, on Tuesday, May 4, FMCC has partnered with FMS Workforce
Solutions Center. The event will be held at that location at the
Riverfront Center in Amsterdam, beginning at 5 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity for any high school student to get
a sense of what a local community college offers," HFM BOCES
guidance counselor Charis Carangelo said. "Many of our students
take the next step toward a career right next door."
Reservations for each program are required and can be made
online at www.fmcc.suny.edu,
or by calling the admissions office at (518) 736-5300.
