Spring ahead!
Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday at 2 a.m.

Remember to set your clocks ahead one hour this Saturday night
before going to bed. Daylight Savings Time for the United States
begins Sunday, March 14, at precisely 2 a.m.
The National Fire Protection Association recommends that this
date be a reminder to change the battery in smoke and carbon
monoxide detectors when we change the clocks for Daylight Saving
Time.
While you've got the ladder out to check your smoke detectors,
why not change a light bulb? Switching to energy efficient bulbs
in your ceiling fixtures could save you $30 a year per bulb on
your electricity bill according to the U.S. Department of
Energy.
Studies done in the 1970s by the U.S. Department of
Transportation show that we trim the entire country's
electricity usage by about one percent EACH DAY during Daylight
Saving Time. |
