Career &
Technical Center Open House - Thursday, Mar. 4
High school sophomores encouraged to investigate career
possibilities
Area sophomores and their parents will have the opportunity
to visit classrooms, meet with faculty, and learn about the
various programs and curriculum offered at HFM BOCES Career
and Technical Center during an Open House on March 4 from
6-8 p.m.
This is the perfect time for prospective students and their
parents to ask questions and discover what career
possibilities are available through the 16 programs offered
in the Career and Technical Center.
The
decision to enroll in a Career and Technical program is a
big step for a high school sophomore, but it can be an
important one. Helping students make career choices is what
the Career and Technical Center is all about. Whether
students graduate from high school and go to college or
directly to work, they benefit from exploring different
careers and learning marketable skills.
The
Center also helps students understand how academic skills in
science, math and language arts are integrated into our
technical programs. Students attending a program at the
Career and Technical Center spend half of their school day
taking academic classes in their home district and the other
half-day in their Career and Technical class.
The
CTC offers programs in
Auto Body Repair,
Auto Technology,
Careers in Education,
Computer Information Technology and Networking,
Construction Technology,
Cosmetology,
Criminal Justice,
Culinary Arts,
Digital Multimedia & Communications,
