Education Music and Art Show
Spring concert and exhibit celebrates passion, enthusiasm
and joy
Nothing
says springtime like a music and art show. Imagine a warm
evening, the sun slipping down the western sky, and the
joyful sound of dozens of happy voices singing about the
Itsy-Bitsy Spider.
Picture hundreds of exciting, vividly colored, multi-layered
designs that produce a smile and that heart-tugging belief
that you are in the presence of real creative passion.
That is what visitors can expect at the HFM BOCES Special
Education Spring Concert and Art Show on Wednesday, May 27,
at 6:30 p.m. in HFM BOCES’ auditorium.
Not much compares to the enthusiasm and joy in the face of
young artists displaying their art work, or young singers
performing their songs.
Nearly 200 children in grades K-12 from schools in the HFM
BOCES region will participate in the production, exhibiting
colorful paintings, sculpture, drawings and fabric crafts,
or performing upbeat songs or a lively dance.
HFM BOCES music teachers Catherine Cole and Amy Winnie, and
art teachers Christa Germain and Autumn Eve
Slawienski-Tracki prepared the program and will direct their
students’ performance.
“We are very proud to present this showcase of the talents
and gifts of our students,” Mr. Jacob said. “They and their
teachers have worked very hard preparing for this night.”
