GED and basic
skills classes registering new students in January
HFM BOCES classes offered in multiple locations
HFM BOCES will be providing several options for area adults
who want to improve their reading, writing and math skills,
as well as prepare for the GED exam. GED preparation classes
will be held a several locations in Amsterdam and
Gloversville, as well as at the HFM BOCES campus in
Johnstown. The classes are intended for adult learners age
21 and older, however learners age 18-20 may be admitted
based on an interview with the teacher and as space is
available.
New students must the registration class at their chosen
location.
During this time students will learn about the program,
register and participate in assessment.
Demand has been high for GED classes through HFM BOCES and
seating is limited in each class, so students must call the
office to reserve a seat. Students should call 736-4340 or
email
spodolec@hfmboces.org to reserve a seat at the
registration class of their choice. Voicemail is available
24 hours a day. Please provide your name, age, mailing
address, phone, email and preferred class location.

Independent Study
An independent study option is also available for adults age
21 & older who, minimally, read at a 9th grade level, are
able to work independently, and exchange assignment packets
every 2 weeks at HFM BOCES. Internet access and an email
address is necessary. Students are accepted into the program
every 8 weeks.
