GED classes
to begin soon in multiple locations
HFM BOCES will be accepting new students in September 2007
Demand has been high for GED classes through HFM BOCES and
seating is limited in each class, so dont delay in calling
the office to reserve your seat. Registration and screening
is a 2 session event and you must be able to attend both
sessions.
Please bring something to write with, paper, a form of
identification that shows your date of birth and a photocopy
of that ID. In the first session we will answer questions to
determine if the class is right for you, fill out paperwork
and begin to assess your skills. The second session
completes the assessment process.
Books may be purchased from any bookstore or online vendor
(used books are available), or you can give a cash deposit
of $15 to your teacher if you want to borrow a book. The
book you will use is Complete GED published by McGraw Hill/
Contemporary, ISBN# 0-8092-9469-9. The Fulton Book Company
in Gloversville (725-7913) offers a 10% discount to HFM
BOCES students. Mysteries on Main Street is in Johnstown
(736-2665) also carries the book.
You will also need a plain calculator and a Casio fx-260
calculator to prepare for the exam. The Casio fx-260 may be
borrowed in class, but may not be taken home.
New students will only be accepted on the dates specified.
Due to the extremely high demand, regular attendance is
necessary.
