OK sale of Stoner Trail campus
Vote is 375-18 in favor of the sale
Area residents voted 375-18 in favor of a referendum that will
allow HFM BOCES to sell its now vacant campus on Stoner Trail
Road in the Town of Johnstown.
Included in the vote total were 142 absentee ballots, with 126
yes votes and 16 no votes included among them.
The
52-acre campus, which includes seven buildings, formerly housed the HFM BOCES Career &
Technical Center. The Career & Technical Center moved to the new 150,000-square-foot
HFM campus when it opened in September. The Stoner Trail campus
is now being used for storage, pending its sale.
The
HFM BOCES Board of Education has signed a one-year professional
services agreement with Pyramid Brokerage Service of Latham to
represent HFM's interests in the sale of the Stoner Trail
campus.
Bid packets are now available from the HFM BOCES Business Office
or Pyramid Brokerage. Bid proposals -- which must be for at
least $300,000 -- must be received by 2 p.m. on Monday, March
26. BOCES officials hope to be in a position to award a purchase
agreement during the March 28 Board of Education meeting.
