Baggetta announces plan to retire
Assistant superintendent says 'every day is a day to celebrate'
Even as Dominick Baggetta was welcoming staff to the first day
of the new school year, he had one eye on the future and one on
the past.
Noting that this past year has been personally challenging for
him, Mr. Baggetta told staff to find joy every day. "Every day
is a good day to celebrate," he said.
Come January 2007, Mr. Baggetta will be winding down his 33-year
career as an educator that began in 1974 when he accepted the
position of special education teacher for HFM BOCES, a post he
held until 1984. He also worked as a training specialist for HFM
BOCES from 1980-1988.
From 1989-1999, Mr. Baggetta served as assistant superintendent
for curriculum for the Gloversville Enlarged School District. He
then served as superintendent for the Wheelerville Union Free
School District from 1999-2002, leaving that post in April 2002
to serve as assistant superintendent for HFM BOCES.
Mr. Baggetta earned an undergraduate degree from Siena Collge
and completed his education at the College of St. Rose, earning
both a masters degree and a CAS.
