From teddy bears to athletic gear:
Participants in "Track Your Treats" event are sure to win something!

If you want a sneak peek at the prizes you can win during Saturday's "Track Your Treats" event, stop by the HFM BOCES Career and Technical Center on Stoner Trail Road this Friday, Oct. 28.

There you will see on display the wide variety of prizes - including gift certificates to area restaurants, electronics gear and more - that some lucky residents will win during this fun family event.

The HFM BOCES NASA Geo-Spatial Program is hosting this hi-tech, Track Your Treats event on Saturday Oct. 29 from 2-4 p.m. on the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Campus in Johnstown. The event will showcase Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and Geo-Caching, with participants using GPS units to help track down hidden treats by following clues and using GPS map coordinates.

Because the GPS equipment is fairly advanced, it is recommended that participants in the HFM "Track Your Treats" event be at least 10 years of age. Parents are welcome to accompany younger children and operate the GPS unit for them.

Overviews of GPS units will be given throughout the event. Prizes will be awarded, depending upon how many lucky "cache" cards are retrieved during the treasure hunt. All participants will receive random prizes that range from gift certificates, CD players, and more contributed by local business owners who hope to promote health and wellness.
