English teachers in grades 6-12 will attend a presentation by
Dr. Yagelski from the Capital Region Writing Center. His keynote
address will focus on the development of English Language Arts
skills introduction. English department chairs will facilitate a
series of participant-driven workshops that deal with a range of
ELA concerns. During lunch and at the conclusion of the day,
teachers will have a chance to peruse materials from a host of
publishers.
All
conference attendees are asked to bring a one-page summary of an
ELA project, unit, or activity. Submissions will be bound
together and provided as a manual at the end of the day.
