Beginning Adobe Photoshop – Jon Aery, Primary School Art
Teacher, BPCSD
This workshop is an introduction to Adobe Photoshop.
Participants should have some computer literacy such as saving
and accessing files and understanding basic terminology. This
workshop will introduce basic Photoshop techniques. Participants
will learn how to utilize layers to alter classic works of art
to create humorous images.
Charcoal Drawing – Kathryn Zajicek, Art Teacher, GJSD
In this workshop participants will create a representational
“grid-assisted” charcoal drawing from a personal photo
reference. This is a quick, inexpensive, popular and successful
lesson for students that involves measuring skills, creating
values with a new medium, and presenting artwork.
Participants will need to bring a photograph.
Ancient Egypt – Susan Sedon, K-8 Art Teacher, NCSD
In this workshop participants will explore a variety of projects
based on Ancient Egypt. These will include making a clay scarab
beetle and creating a sarcophagus. This workshop will include
art history, methods, materials, and discussion.
Paper Silhouttes – Pat Purtell, High School Art Teacher, NCSD
In this workshop participants will create paper silhouettes in
the style of world famous artist, Ugo Mochi. Using knives,
tracing paper and black paper, participants will create
silhouette artwork. These techniques are easily transferable
into classroom use.
