The Office of Teaching of the State Education Department
has authorized this office to evaluate and recommend
certification for all areas of professional service with
the exception of the following: School District
Administrator, Occupational Education, Bilingual Education
and Teaching English as a Second Language. Upon
application, this office issues temporary and professional
coaching licenses for non-teacher coaches. Professional
employees referred by participating districts and residents
of Hamilton, Fulton and Montgomery counties receive prompt
responses to questions concerning certification status.
This office is also able to assist and advise districts on
problems concerning the employment of non-certified
teachers. Information concern-ing changes in certification
regulations is disseminated to participating school
districts, and workshops are presented in local school
districts upon request.
