 Project-Based Learning
Resources
Project-Based Learning (PBL), is a student-centered
instructional method that challenges students to solve
problems by applying knowledge to everyday situations.
These activities are designed to answer a question or
solve a problem and generally reflect the types of
learning and work people do in the everyday world
outside the classroom.
Project Based Learning is synonymous with learning in depth. A
well-designed project provokes students to encounter (and
struggle with) the central concepts and principles of a
discipline. It is characterized by high levels
of critical thinking, group collaboration and reflection
on learning outcomes.
HFM BOCES is pleased to have partnered with component
districts to provide a year-long series of PBL trainings
to K-12 teachers. The following resources are provided
for teachers who are
interested in incorporating PBL units into their
classrooms.
