The new 21st
Century Community Learning Centers serve middle-school children
and families in the Amsterdam, Fort Plain, Gloversville and
Johnstown school districts. These afterschool programs primarily
serve students ages 11-15 in the middle school who are most at
risk for educational failure.
While the operation has specific goals aimed at meeting the
needs of a targeted population, these programs are open to all
based on priorities, needs and accommodation.
Underwritten by funds from the federal government, this new 21st
CCLC grant runs through 2008. This program is an extension of a
three-year 21st grant that previously served Amsterdam, Fonda-Fultonville
and Fort Plain.
