Digital Learning Specialist
HFM BOCES Instructional Services Division anticipates two
Digital Learning Specialist positions in the Gloversville School
District
Summary
• Work under
the direction of the HFM BOCES Instructional Services Division
to support, promote and advance the integration of technology
into instructional delivery, leading to enhanced student
utilization and improved student achievement.
• Attend
training sessions, learn and facilitate implementation of
technology in support of data-driven instruction at the
building, district and regional levels.
• Establish
active regional network user groups, employing and modeling
successful digital communication, in order to share best
practices that demonstrate improved student achievement.
• Support and
model effective technology integration ensuring its use as an
essential instructional tool.
• Organize
and plan staff development activities for building, district and
regional audiences using adult learner theory.
• Collect,
collate and maintain accurate training and staff development
records.
• Assess and
evaluate the effectiveness of the Digital Learning Specialist
Team and its impact on student achievement.
Position Description
Digital Learning Specialists are…
• to focus
their research and staff development on needs generated from
students’ performances and from building colleagues.
• expected to
share the “residency” opportunity with their building
colleagues, encouraging all interested teachers to apply.
Residents are teachers who commit to working in partnership with
the DLS for the entire school year. Residents receive a stipend
and are expected to demonstrate their learning by publishing
lesson plans.
• expected to
review, in collaboration with district and HFM administrators,
resident applicants and select teachers to serve in the capacity
of resident.
• expected to
share their areas of expertise among a regional network.
• expected to
coach residents and assist residents at they develop, review and
publish five lesson plans and one article study.
• to
participate in at least two days of summer professional
development.
• able to
request conference expense money in order to attend PD most
relevant to their workshop schedules (pending grant funding).
These PD experiences must be pre-approved by district and BOCES
administration.
• to receive
an annual stipend supporting their 12-month participation on
this team and will be BOCES employees.
